Breast Plastic Surgery Procedures
Breast augmentation surgery is performed using saline or silicone filled implants to increase the size of your breasts and give you a more proportionate figure. During your initial consultation and examination, Dr. Keyes will develop a surgical treatment plan to meet your needs. Together you will select the best type of implant and placement of incision. Through his skillful surgical technique, Dr. Keyes will make every effort to ensure minimal scarring and provide you with beautiful, natural-looking results.
Breast augmentation revision can become necessary for a number of reasons. An implant may have ruptured or shifted out of place. Capsular contracture, the abnormal tightening of scar tissue around the implant, may have distorted the shape of your breast. In other cases, the results of your breast augmentation may have changed with age. Through breast revision surgery, Dr. Keyes can remove and replace your implants and provide other enhancements to help you achieve your goals.
Dr. Keyes offers several types of breast implants. First, you will need to choose between saline or silicone implants. Both implants are safe and yield natural results. Some women prefer the natural feel of silicone. Others select saline, since there is no risk of ruptured silicone. Upon examination, Dr. Keyes will select the best type, size and shape of implant to compliment your figure.
Pregnancy, weight changes, and aging can cause your breasts to droop. Breast lift surgery can be performed to reposition the nipple-areolar complex and remove the excess skin to restore a more youthful bustline. Depending on the droopiness of the breast, Dr. Keyes will determine the type of incision used. He will place incisions artfully and carefully to minimize visible scarring.
If your breasts are disproportionately large, you may suffer significant physical discomfort and emotional distress. Breast reduction can be performed to bring the breasts into proportion with the rest of the body. During breast reduction, Dr. Keyes will remove excess breast tissue and fat. During this procedure Dr. Keyes will reposition your nipples and areolas to maintain the aesthetics of your breasts. Finally, he will trim away extra skin and close the incisions to leave minimal scarring.
Nipple Reconstruction is a common procedure that can significantly improve the appearance of one or both nipples for both men and women. Patients may experience inverted nipples, stretched nipples, unevenness, or lacking nipples due to other procedures such as mastectomy. Nipple reconstruction can create more symmetry, restore appearance, and enhanceconfidence with minimal scaring. Depending on the need, Dr. Keyes will determine the best surgical method to meet the desired goals.
Gynecomastia (Enlarged Male Breasts)
Gynecomastia is a condition that affects men, and is caused by excessive breast tissue from the formation of fatty tissue and/or glandular tissue. The procedure to correct this condition is called a Subcutaneous mastectomy where excess breast tissue and fat are removed through liposuction, surgical excision, or both. The procedure is performed as an outpatient procedure lasting between 1-3 hours, depending on each patient’s unique needs. The correction of Gynecomastia with the removal of excess breast tissue can increase a man’s self-confidence with his physical appearance.
