Male breast reduction to reduce the volume may be done in two ways: liposuction and surgical excision. Sometimes a combination of the two procedures is necessary. The choice between these techniques will be based on the composition of your male breasts.
Men whose breasts are mostly fatty tissue will benefit from liposuction. With a cannula, we are able to suction out the excess fatty tissue and contour the chest and may give a more masculine appearance.
Patients with an excess of glandular breast tissue will need a different technique. This involves removing the extra glandular tissue through direct excision or using a scalpel.
With removal of glandular tissue, sometimes it may be necessary to remove excess loose skin at the same time in order to give the chest a tighter appearance.
